Getting there

You fly into the international airport “Humberto Delgado” in Lisbon (LIS). The journey time to Mellowmove is approximately 40 minutes.

We are happy to organise a pick-up from the airport (or Lisbon city) via our shuttle partner “Renatours”. The transfer is possible at any time and we need your flight details up to one week before your arrival.

Prices and more info on how to get there >

Our arrival and departure days are either Saturday or Sunday. Outside the main season (April to June and October), it is also possible to arrive on weekdays by arrangement.

Yes, please always let us know your arrival time in advance! We optimise the cleaning schedule according to the indicated times so that you have the shortest possible waiting time.

Our regular check in times are from 08:00 to 20:00. Your accommodation is usually ready for occupancy from 15:00 at the latest. Before that, of course, you can stay throughout the camp. You can also arrive outside these times for a one-off fee of € 10.

Check out from the accommodation is at 10:00. If you want to leave later, you are welcome to stay longer at the camp and use the general areas.

If you plan to explore the area on your own besides the surf course, a rental car is certainly a good consideration.

Of course, it makes the most sense to pick up the car right at the airport. Then you don’t have to organise the transfer to the camp and the return journey to the airport separately.

You can find more information under Arrival

Yes! If you are arriving by rental car or your own car, there is ample parking opposite the campsite.

Camp

The day at the camp begins and ends at the buffet. In the morning we start with a rich breakfast buffet and in the evening a 2-course dinner awaits you. In between, the surf course, theory sessions and yoga and other programme items take place. The timinig for this is flexible and is determined by the waves and the tides. We schedule the surf course daily at the best time for surfing and all other activities build up around it. You will find the schedule for the respective time on the information board in the dining hall the evening before.

Of course, the day is not quite over after dinner. There are plenty of ways to spend the evening and our in-house bar caters for all your needs.

Yes, many! The percentage of guests travelling alone is probably higher than you think! So you’ll quickly find a connection even without a travel partner.

In principle, you book a spot for one person in your package, i.e. a bed in your chosen room category and not the whole room.

There is of course also the possibility to book a double room for exclusive single use for an additional charge.

The majority of our guests are between 25 and 35 years old.

Of course! You are not going camping, so you don’t need to think about bringing bed linen and towels. Everything is provided and we change your towel in the middle of the week

As the towels are for bathroom use only, please bring your own beach towel. If it won´t fit in the suitcase, we can also help you out. Just let us know when you check in!

No! You can borrow a hairdryer at check-in (no charge) and return it before you leave.

In order for everyone to enjoy their holiday at the camp equally, we would like to ask you to consider a few things in the sense of living together harmoniously:

THE SLEEPY SURFER RULE

If you are tired from surfing, you should be able to sleep! Therefore, please keep the volume of your night-time activities from 00:00 onwards at a level that allows tired campers to sleep undisturbed.

THE DRY HOUSE RULE

The living area is the wrong place for wet and sandy wetsuits and surfboards! Nor do the balcony railings want to be abused as a clothesline for dripping wetsuits. Therefore, please only use the infrastructure provided for this purpose at the camp!

THE NO BLOODY FEET RULE

Glasses and glass bottles in or at the edge of the pool are a NO GO! Slashed soles end your surf week sooner than you think….

Unfortunately no! We love animals but due to government regulations we cannot accommodate your pet.

Yes! We have a good internet connection and you should have wifi reception throughout the site.

Surfing

Yes, you can and you should! Our Level 1 (Beginner) surf course is designed for beginners and no surfing experience is required.

Absolutely! Depending on where you are with your skills, you will find Level 2 (Step Up) or Level 3 (Intermediate) courses just right to develop your surfing from your current level upwards. Our coaches are always by your side.

To find the right level for you, check out the surf lessons section >.

The surf courses run 5 days per week (Mon-Fri). The weekend is meant for relaxing and getting there and back.

A course day lasts about 5-6 hours and also includes the drive to the course beach, the warm up and short theoretical sessions. The net time in the water is about 2 – 2.5 hours and usually consists of 2 parts with a break in between.

Sure! All surf equipment is included in all surf course levels. You just need to bring your own swimsuit / bikini.

If you are not participating in the surf course, you can also rent equipment separately.

We do not hand out surf equipment to beginners outside of the course times! This is for your own safety, as beginners do not have the necessary experience to properly assess certain risks in the ocean.

Advanced surfers can also use the rental equipment outside of the course times by arrangement if the surf instructor deems the prevailing conditions to be safe.

Yes, we love surfing with kids! We coach children from the age of 12 and also have the appropriate material for this at the camp.

We teach in German and English.

All our surf instructors have completed their training programme with the surf association and are trained lifeguards, whose content they refresh every 2 years in a course.

A instructor teaches up to 6 surfing students in his group.

Eating & Drinking

The “Mellow Kitchn” of our chef Anna is more or less the restaurant in the surf camp. You can book the Food Package and will be spoiled 6 days a week with a rich breakfast buffet including a DIY lunch pack and a 2-course dinner. More about the Food Package >

Of course! Vegetarian and vegan diets are a high priority for us. You can select your preference in the online booking.

We try to ensure the greatest possible availability of organic, regional and seasonal ingredients in order to process them fresh for you. We reject convenience and ready-made products as a matter of principle.

No problem! We are well adjusted to many common food intolerances and will gladly take them into account if you inform us about them. If you have very specific dietary requirements, please let us know your needs in advance and we will clarify how we can cater for you.

Yes! You can also book breakfast only (including packed lunch) and eat in a restaurant in the evening. The price for the package without dinner is € 66,- per week.
